I started my internship of creator of content at Quicken Loans in October 2015. It started like any new job, with a wide application and interview process, but I should have known from the start that working here would be like nothing I had ever experienced. A recruiter helped me every step of the way, and I felt like even if he did not personally know me, he was really interested in my success. When I hung up the phone after that he told me that I have offered me the job, I immediately called my mother to tell her the news. But when I told him that the position was interning, I knew that she was very happy for me, but I could tell that the word 'intern' worried him. She said things like, 'You have had an internship in College!' and "Shouldn't you be looking for a job full time?"
friends and family had great things to say about the use of Quicken Loans so I knew it was something I wanted to continue, even if it was "just a stage." Graduated in may 2015 from Michigan State University with a degree in journalism, I was already used to years to say I wouldn't immediately, if ever, find a job in my field. So after some deliberation, I took the job with the hope that I would be able to prove those people wrong, especially I would use I learned in College in my daily life. Bit I didn't, it would not like any normal job but something much more.
when you hear the word "intern", what comes to mind? For me, I picture a 20 - something running around the city for their boss, pick up the dry cleaning staff, coffee every two hours, or even just blind tasks do no one else wants to. Not at Quicken loans. Here, students are treated as equal and are appreciated. We give opportunities to make an impact with the work we are doing and have the confidence to do the job. We are included in the events to advance our exhibition of networking within the company and are driven to create relationships that may be useful in the future.
during my stay here, I attended the creation of new ways for incoming bankers to prepare for the exam without DANGER, that is a huge factor in the determination of their future with the company. Asked me to help with family class 5 event of the MBA, team members Quicken Loans in Detroit, Cleveland and Arizona together to collaborate and create new ways to improve their teams, while being able to go out and have fun with them for a few days. Belong to the Organization of the event, so that to go, was crucial in the creation of networks of relationships. I also did some of the tasks that don't necessarily create content, but asked me to help in the knowledge made me feel appreciated. I attended the meeting of societies, the Christmas party and the day ISMs who all gave me a feel for how the Senior Leadership gives to the members of the team, regardless of whether the free goodies or good advice.
quicken Loans is a partnership. Everyone who works here knows how important customer experience is in all aspects - internal technology and facilities, looking for a mortgage, the training and preparation of new bankers for success. It is inspiring to know that "every customer, every time, without exception, no excuses" is not only limited to external customers. The people here are motivated by the other to make a difference. In a video posted on the homepage of ready Quicken careers, Director general Bill Emerson said people can make a difference within this organization, because their thoughts, ideas and curiosity are evaluated. I know he's not just saying that for the camera because I've seen how it is true everyday, I just work.
as part of a team here is unlike any normal job. Within two months that short, I feel like I've made a difference, because I was part of the countless projects where I expose my opinions are valued. I said that I am the 'fresh eyes' my team needs to monitor things. In addition, I learned more about myself that I have in the previous work. The culture here is entirely different from all, I worked.
, if there is an opportunity better yourself, even if it means putting another team, you will have the support of your team. My team leaders understood that my goal here was to find a position full time after my internship was over, and they encouraged me every day to do. Other places, in my experience, have had the complete opposite reaction and were shocked that I searched another place to work, even if it meant improving myself. ISMS day wasn't just a day where we sat for hours listening to the speakers, it was a day where new members of the team were able to get an overview of first-hand what is crucial for society. Learn the ISMS "simplicity is genius", "every second counts", and "We'll figure it out," opened my eyes to improvements, that I can do on my desk and in my daily life. Honestly, I can't wait to see the opportunities and experiences of my future to Quicken Loans!
