I lived in Detroit all my life. So as you can imagine, I did not grow in the best neighborhood or environment. A vision of what I wanted never was obvious for me, just what I wanted to do. Growing up, I knew that I wanted to be like the guys I saw in my neighborhood: the guys who I thought succeeded because of the freedom and the friends they had. I tried to be what I thought I had to be in order to be like them. Then there came a point where I realized that the direction I was going not me not somewhere I wanted to my seven brothers and sisters to follow. I realized what life really had to offer and am committed to become the best possible model for my family.
the Intro
when I arrived at Quicken Loans, I had no idea what I'd do or what to expect. I didn't know anyone who had obtained a home equity loan, then the process was completely unknown to me. However, I would have been perfectly fine with just get coffee and making copies. I came to want to be the trainee who have supported my team in any way possible. It didn't occur to me that my team would support me in all possible ways, but that's exactly what happened. In fact, it comes to my second summer with the company, and there are a lot of reasons why I just had to return.
highlights
I had several amazing experiences this summer that I will remember for the rest of my life - experiences that would have been impossible if it had not been for this internship. The most memorable in question being clouded by various people throughout our Organization. I work with the management team, then sharing the culture of my team and who represent it in this way was a huge part of share our vision of Detroit with the team members. Work closely with senior managers also allowed me to see what is the depth of the culture of Quicken Loans, such as their disdain for bureaucracy, will actually. He gave me a glimpse into the business that I never thought existed, and I have been included as a real part of the team. Meetings in completely different States and invitations to all the games in rider took me by storm. It was my registration on these occasions that makes me that I would not work to another company.

one of the most epic opportunities this summer was invited to on Zupdate, which is our internal news/talk-show ladder. I had a live chat with the President of Quicken Loans Jay Farner, with the whole family of companies to watch. Before I go on stage, I had never been more nervous in my life. It was a chance for me to represent and promote the incredible internship program. Being on stage in front of my fellow team members and team leaders, I felt more comfortable and was able to express my personal love for my team and the course as a whole.
in order to have the best possible training of advice, I believe that we must look for opportunities at your disposal. Never settle for just what're told you to do. Instead, create projects for yourself and help the other members of your team. I know as an intern, you may sometimes be reluctant to speak when something interests you. But this same curiosity will be doors open to aspects of the business that you don't know even exist. You'll see Quicken Loans wants you to become as large as you can be. It is a place to grow professionally, academically and personally, if you ever feel that you can't do something. Always try to find ways to improve the quality of life of your team as well as the company. This possibility of internship, that's all you do. So make it amazing.
